  • God’s Power – Radio Show Recap

Today’s show is about POWER.  But not just any power – God’s Power!

Power as the world defines it:

    god s power

    • Powerful Corporations
    • Powerful Executives
    • Popularity or celebrity power
    • Money as power
    • Physical power
    • Horsepower
    • Girl power
    • People power
    • Power to the People!
    • Need we go on?

All these types of power are fleeting, so it’s not real power at all.

REAL power is the power of God.  God’s power is infallible and eternal.  John 1:1 and John 1:14 combine to show us God’s power.  The Word is God, and the Word became flesh in Jesus Christ!

So let’s start looking at the power of God from the beginning:

Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created heaven and earth.” God called the universe into being…now THAT’S real power!

He made it all out of nothing – no raw materials.  God’s power is as unmeasurable as the Universe itself.

God sent us a Savior – Jesus Christ – who died for our sin.  By doing so, He provided a way for us to be in relationship with Him for all eternity.  And that relationship begins by accepting the gift of salvation.  Once you do, you have the power of God residing within you.  You want to talk about real power?  There it is!

Here’s a breakdown of Bible verses that tell us what the Bible has to say about God’s power:

    • John 14:6 – Jesus is the way, truth, and life.  He is EVERYTHING and EVERYWHERE.  Real power!
    • Ephesians 2:8-9 – Jesus saves – not by our works or deeds – but by His gift.  A gift that can save our eternal soul? THAT’S God’s power!
    • John 16:7 – Jesus had to leave in order to send us a helper – the Holy Spirit – who resides with us.  God’s power within!
    • John 3:1-20 – God’s power allows us to be born again through Jesus Christ. Being born again?  God’s power to save!
    • Romans 12:2 – Once we have the power of God within us, we become transformed by the renewing of our mind.
    • 1 Corinthians 3:16 – We are a temple of God and the Holy Spirit resides within. Talk about having power – God’s power residing within us…wow!

Listen to the full show to see how it all fits together to lead us to REAL power – God’s power!
